I have to do this one in english language because I actually read these books in English and they were so great that I couldn’t walk away from any of these five books. I recommend to read these books in english but you don’t have to, this is just my personal preference.

The Remnant Chronicles play on a fantasy continent on which are many different kingdoms. The most important one: Morrighan. Morrighan was once the most glorious kingdom but is now threatened by Delbrecht. The only chance that the kingdom sees, is to marry their first and only daughter to the Delbrecht prince. But they forgot who the princess was: A stubborn girl not following any commands. Lia, the princess, and her best friend Pauline run away to Terravin, a small town at the sea. Pauline has an aunt, working in a tavern where both of them can stay when they help out in the tavern. Lia enjoys her normal life with so much freedom but misses her three older brothers. Soon two mysterious men show up, both very handsome, but can Lia trust them? It turns out that one of them is the prince from Delbrecht and the other an Assassin, sent to kill her. Lia is in deep trouble and is soon forced to ride to the other end to the continent where she faces even more trouble. 

The first three books are about Lia. The first one is called “The Kiss of Deception” followed by “The Heart of Betrayal” and last but not least there is “The Beauty of Darkness”. These books are followed by two more. They play on the same continent, seven years later, so we get the chance to meet the old characters again. The books are called “Dance of thieves” and “Vow of thieves”.

It’s about Kazi, who is on the way to Tor’s Watch to find old criminals from the last books. But the Patrei, Jase Ballenger, gets in her way. He is arrogant and very handsome and if that wasn’t enough, Kazi ends up getting chained to his feet and kidnapped. They are able to free themselves, but now have to endure each other the whole way back to Tor’s Watch. Will it make them get closer or makes it everything just worse?

The books were written by Mary E. Pearson. The first one was published in 2014 and the last one in 2019 in the United States. Great books with everything you need: A love story, action filled fights and new, interesting cultures, religions and languages. I really can highly recommend these books.
